v2.3.0August 21, 2026

Gear that fits — and a checkout that keeps your place

Your slime has 30 bodies and 260 things to wear, and until now a helmet that sat right on one body could swallow the face on another. Every helmet now has a hand-placed fit for each facing and every slot follows the body's measurements stage by stage, so crowns sit on crowns, swords read as held, and shields stay off-hand on every evolution. Underneath that: two exam bugs that could double-count a finished exam or yank the runner mid-question, a checkout that no longer loses you when you click “upgrade” from a stale session, and a payment-failed email so a declined card never goes quiet.

Samuel Oldham built the gear-fit system: the per-item placement data, the sprite editor that writes it, and the front-facing helmet art pipeline. GitHub · Website · LinkedIn

🧢Your slime, properly dressed

  • NewAll 260 equippable items (40 full four-piece sets among them) fit across the 30 evolution bodies: every helmet has a hand-placed fit per facing, every slot's placement follows the body measurements stage by stage, and the pieces that still sat wrong got their own override. Reviewed item by item on a mid-ladder body and spot-checked across the late tiers. Helmets sit on the crown with eyes visible, weapons read as held with the business end up, shields sit in the off-hand, armor stops at the beltline. Samuel Oldham built the system underneath all of it.
  • NewHelmets now have front-facing art. The same hat reads as the same hat whether your slime faces you in the inventory or faces the enemy in battle — with no more side-view crowns pasted onto a front-facing head.
  • ImprovedInventory cards and profile portraits use their own fit instead of the battle one, so thumbnails stop cropping crowns and halos.

📝Exams

  • FixedOpening “View Detailed Results” on a finished exam could award its XP and achievements a second time and record the exam twice. A completion is counted once — at the moment you finish it.
  • FixedA background refresh of the exam list could unmount a running exam — timer reset to 0:00 on question 2, answers gone. The runner is now pinned for the whole session once it opens.

💳Checkout & billing

  • ImprovedClicking an upgrade button from a signed-out or expired session used to drop you on a bare register form and forget why you came. It now lands on the pricing page with a “Pick up where you left off” banner that carries your choice through sign-up and straight into checkout.
  • FixedA hiccup in our analytics could turn a perfectly good checkout into an error toast. Checkout no longer waits on anything that is not the checkout.
  • NewIf a renewal payment fails, you get an email saying so — with your access kept active while the card is retried — instead of finding out when the subscription lapses.
  • FixedThe old “Founders Week has ended” pop-up that greeted every new free account is retired for good.

🛠️Reliability

  • FixedDaily activity counts battles and practice exams again, so streak reminders reach the people who are actually mid-streak.
  • FixedMalformed URLs from scanners no longer trigger server errors; they get a plain 404.
v2.2.0August 13, 2026

Flashcards overhaul — every card is earned

We dug into why flashcard piles kept growing even for people who studied every day, and found a bug that had been there from the start: pressing “Good” on a new card never moved it forward. It came back ten minutes later. Every time. That's fixed — and while we were in there, we rebuilt how cards are born. No more random starter cards: every card in your deck now comes from a question you actually faced in a battle, a duel, or a practice exam.

🛠️The graduation bug

  • FixedRating a learning-phase card “Good” re-scheduled it for ten minutes later — every time, forever. Cards could never graduate into long-term review, which is why overdue piles grew no matter how much you studied. Cards now climb the ladder they were designed for: a minute, ten minutes, a day, then real spaced intervals.
  • FixedOn a device restored from cloud backup, some cards silently refused to save your reviews — the session moved on as if nothing happened. Those cards grade normally again, and if a review ever fails to save, the app tells you instead of losing it quietly.
  • ImprovedYour deck follows you across devices properly now. Before, a device only pulled your cloud deck once, ever; each session now merges in whichever copy of a card has the most study history.

🃏Earned cards

  • NewBattle results now tell you when your mistakes forge new flashcards, and the flashcards page shows cards waiting to join your drills — one tap to add them, one to set them aside.
  • NewThe Forge finally sees your battles and duels. “Avenge Your Defeats” and the Vein Wall used to light up only from practice exams; now every surface where you miss a question feeds the Forge.
  • ImprovedStarter cards are gone. A new deck starts empty on purpose — the page points you to a battle, a duel, or a practice exam, and your first mistakes build your first cards.
  • ImprovedWinning a battle no longer counts toward your daily drill target. A long battle session could flip Today's Drill to “All caught up!” while your real reviews sat waiting. Battling is battling; studying is studying.
  • ImprovedSet a suggested card aside and later miss that question again? It returns to the pool. A fresh miss is fresh evidence.
  • ImprovedAuto-added cards respect a daily cap now, so one long session can't flood your deck. Fleeing a guild battle keeps the mistakes you already made — the damage counted, so the lessons do too.

🗣️You said, we did

Real player feedback and what happened to it. Yours can be next — there's a "Give feedback" button in your account menu.

  • ““I'm pretty confused about how the flashcard system works. What are fresh recruits vs. in training vs. battle-hardened? If there's a FAQ or explainer article I need to read, please let me know!””

ShippedFair — the system was doing half its work in secret. It now explains itself where it matters: battle results tell you when mistakes become cards, waiting cards show up on the flashcards page with a one-tap add, and an empty deck says exactly how cards get made.

  • ““I need to study only for the PT0-003 — in the flashcards I see the topics for all certifications.””

PlannedCert-scoped drills are next on the flashcards roadmap. The Forge already builds cert by cert; Today's Drill and the deck counts will follow.

v2.1.2July 30, 2026

Flashcard review fix — your session stays put

A player wrote in about reviews that would open, show a card for a second or two, then dump them back on the “All caught up!” screen. We found it: a background sync could mark today's goal as met and end the session out from under you. Fixed — a review you've started now runs until you finish it.

🛠️Reliability

  • FixedStarting a review could flash your first card, then boot you to “All caught up!” before you answered anything. It happened when a cloud restore or a second open tab finished your daily goal mid-session. A started review now keeps its cards no matter what happens in the background.
  • FixedFinishing Today's Drill jumped straight to “All caught up!” and skipped your session recap. The Session Complete screen — cards reviewed, how many you rated Good or better — now actually shows.

🗣️You said, we did

Real player feedback and what happened to it. Yours can be next — there's a "Give feedback" button in your account menu.

  • ““Flashcard review will at times simply not work… I will click on a flash card or begin the review, it pops up for a second or two, then boots me back to the start screen.””

ShippedThat one report led us straight to the bug — a background sync could end a running session. Your review now stays on screen until you're done.

v2.1.1July 26, 2026

Campaign loading fix — no more endless skeleton

A player report led us to a bug where the Campaign page could load forever for some accounts. That's fixed — and every loading screen in the battle flow now tells you when something went wrong and gives you a Retry button instead of spinning silently.

🛠️Reliability

  • FixedSome accounts (including paying members) were stuck on an endless loading skeleton on the Campaign page because their character profile was never created at signup. Affected accounts are repaired, and the app now heals a missing profile automatically.
  • FixedPremium members could briefly see the upgrade prompt when a background check failed — the app no longer assumes 'free' on a failed check.
  • FixedIf the question-bank download for a battle fails (spotty connection, storage limits), you now get a clear error and a Retry button instead of an endless 'Preparing your battle…' spinner.
  • ImprovedQuestion-bank syncing is more resilient in private browsing and on flaky connections, and failed syncs retry sooner.

🗣️You said, we did

Real player feedback and what happened to it. Yours can be next — there's a "Give feedback" button in your account menu.

  • ““The Campaign page never renders — it stays a loading skeleton indefinitely. Please add an explicit timeout and error state, including which stage failed and a retry button.””

ShippedExactly that: the Campaign and battle loading screens now surface what failed with a Retry button, and the underlying account bug is fixed for everyone it affected.

v2.1The OracleJuly 16, 2026

The Exam Readiness Predictor — coming soon

The question every cert student actually has — am I ready to book? — is about to get a real answer. Coming soon: the Oracle will weigh your record by the official exam-domain weights, show you an honest score range, and summon you the moment you meet her published Exam-Ready rule.

🔮The Oracle's Chamber (/readiness)

  • NewFour evidence pillars — Coverage, Mastery, Trials, Retention — each with a 'show the math' expander. The formula is published, not hidden.
  • NewAn honest score RANGE against your cert's real pass line (750 for Security+, 675 for A+ Core 1, 720 for Network+…) — never a fake-precise point score.
  • NewThe Trial of Fire — Exam-Ready must be earned: your last two full practice exams at 85%+, across two domains, within 45 days.
  • NewSet your exam date and the Oracle tracks your trajectory — on pace or behind — and projects how much you'll have forgotten by exam day.
  • NewThe Summons — the moment your verdict flips to Exam-Ready, she tells you. Book with confidence, not anxiety.
  • ImprovedThe stats-page readiness ring will use official domain weights and your cert's own pass line (it was Security+-flavored for everyone before).
v2.0The Arena UpdateJuly 6, 2026

SecuSpark became a multiplayer RPG

The biggest release in SecuSpark history. Three weeks ago this was a study app with a battle mode — now every real exam question you answer is a hit on a pixel boss, a live duel against a real opponent, or a rep in a daily drill built to get you exam-ready.

⚔️PvP Live Arena — duel a real human, live

  • NewReal-time 1v1 — two players, the same exam questions, simultaneously. The faster correct answer hits harder.
  • NewRanked ELO — a rating that reflects how well you actually know the material.
  • NewLive invites — challenge a friend or a stranger and see who's online.
  • ImprovedServer-verified scoring and anti-cheat hardening — a leaderboard you can trust.

🗳️Feature Duels — you pick what ships next

  • NewVote on head-to-head feature match-ups — two takes on the same idea, side by side. One tap picks your winner.
  • NewYour vote pays out on the spot — energy, or bonus premium time if you're a member.
  • NewResults are public and we ship the winner — the roadmap is yours to steer.

📇Five certification paths

  • NewPenTest+ (PT0-003) is live — 552 questions and 24 hand-drawn offensive-security bosses, joining Security+, A+, Network+, and CySA+. That's 7,500+ practice questions across 7 certs, no prerequisites.
  • ImprovedEvery cert path is now judged against its own real pass line — Security+, A+, Network+, CySA+, and PenTest+ each speak their own exam's language before you book the $439 exam.

🃏Flashcards, rebuilt

  • NewToday's Drill — a daily study plan built on FSRS spaced repetition. Finish in 15 minutes, not 4 hours.
  • NewThe battle generates your flashcards — wrong answers become tomorrow's review deck automatically, with a smart throttle so you're never buried.
  • ImprovedAn overdue drain so a backlog never becomes a guilt pile.

🎨A hand-built redesign

  • ImprovedEvery authenticated screen rebuilt by hand into a warm, hearth-lit look — wood, parchment, carved relief. Each cert tints its world its own color.
  • ImprovedA new three-font system — an RPG display face for the big moments, a clean sans for everything you read, a dedicated mono for numbers.
  • NewA playable homepage — fight an exam question before you sign up.

✨Faster, smoother, more honest

  • ImprovedPerformance and accessibility pass — faster loads, reduced-motion support, screen-reader headings across authed surfaces.
  • ImprovedSharper battles — enemy HP in the HUD, a Flee button that keeps the damage you already dealt, clearer results.
  • FixedA production hydration bug and corrected sprite facings across the bestiary.

🗣️You said, we did

Real player feedback and what happened to it. Yours can be next — there's a "Give feedback" button in your account menu.

  • “Energy drained the moment a battle loaded — even if I backed out.”

ShippedEnergy now only charges when you answer your first question.

  • “When is PenTest+ coming?”

    ShippedLive — 552 questions and 24 offensive-security bosses.

  • “My flashcard backlog turned into a guilt pile.”

    ShippedToday's Drill + an overdue drain — a 15-minute daily plan instead of a 400-card wall.

  • “I want a say in what you build next.”

ShippedFeature Duels — vote on head-to-head match-ups and we ship the winner.
