How Much Is the Network+ Exam in 2026?
A single Network+ N10-009 voucher lists at $399 in the US, booked through Pearson VUE. The voucher covers one attempt only — no training, no practice exams, no retake. It's cheaper than Security+ ($439) but pricier than A+ per exam, which fits Network+'s spot in the middle of the CompTIA stack.
Retake Fees
There's no discounted re-entry rate — a failed attempt means paying the full voucher price again. You can retake immediately after a first failure; from the third attempt on, CompTIA requires a 14-day wait between tries. If you're on the fence about readiness, the Voucher + Retake bundle (about $100 more) beats paying for two separate vouchers.
How to Pay Less
- Academic / student pricing — CompTIA's academic store discounts vouchers for eligible students.
- Military & veteran — DoD and COOL programs can cover the exam.
- Employer reimbursement — many IT employers pay for Network+.
- Skip the pricey bundle — buy a retake bundle if you're unsure, but you rarely need a full training package on top of solid practice.
Renewal Cost (Every 3 Years)
Network+ is valid for three years. Renew by earning Continuing Education Units over the cycle (plus a small CE maintenance fee, roughly $25–50/year) or by passing a higher-level CompTIA exam such as Security+, which renews Network+ automatically. Letting it lapse means re-sitting the current exam at full price.
The Cheapest Way to Prepare
Training is the biggest swing in your total cost. CompTIA CertMaster runs $149–349 per cert; you don't need it to pass. What you need is reps on realistic questions — especially subnetting, ports, and troubleshooting.
SecuSpark has 1,069 Network+ practice questions with 3 full exams free, and Campaign Pass unlocks everything for $14.99/mo or $34.99/quarter — far less than one voucher. Start on the Network+ practice test, and know your target first with the Network+ passing score.
